The Department of Statistics at North Carolina State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral fellow. These fellowships are partially supported by a National Science Foundation VIGRE grant and, as such, are restricted to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. A Ph.D. in statistics or biostatistics is required. These non-tenure-track appointments are for one to three years and support must begin no more than 18 months of completion of the Ph.D..
NCSU VIGRE postdoctoral fellowships are designed to maximize the technical and professional development of the participant. Fellows pursue a program of disciplinary and cross-disciplinary research in a supportive environment. In addition, all fellows teach one course per semester and participate in the activities of the NCSU VIGRE program, which will include an off-campus experience. Each fellow will affiliate in one of four interdisciplinary research areas (leader in parentheses): biomedical statistics (A. Tsiatis), environmental statistics (L. Stefanski), industrial and technology statistics (J. Hughes-Oliver) and Statistical Genetics (B. Weir). For more information, see http://www.stat.ncsu.edu/ and http://www.stat.ncsu.edu/admin/vigre/.
