The Department of Statistics at The Ohio State University has three Visiting Assistant Professor positions available. We hope to fill these positions by August 1, 2012. The appointments are for one year, with the option for a second year by mutual agreement. Teaching duties are instruction of four semester courses in each academic year. Job Description: Applied statistician responsible for statistical support of research and development in Chandler, Arizona. Responsibilities include consulting, training, data analysis, methods development and programming. Requires knowledge and/or experience in areas such as: process control, process characterization/optimization, regression modeling, data mining, measurement capability analysis, experimental design and reliability statistics. Candidate must be proficient in using software packages such as JMP, Minitab or SAS. Candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to lead and work in a highly technical team environment. Candidate should have an MS or PhD in Statistics.
