This position provides analysis and business modeling support on strategic initiatives for corporate management; analyzes performance trends, models complex business decisions, tracks performance and presents results to management. The Manager of Financial & Statistical Analysis supports the SVP of marketing, develops reference materials and presentations telling the story behind the numbers to the senior executive leadership team.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides advanced statistical and analytical support in developing appropriate strategy for the business.
- Employs data manipulation, statistical and financial modeling, forecasting and optimization in a business context with an emphasis on supporting the SVP of Marketing.
- Responsible for financial modeling and then telling the story behind the numbers to our senior executive leadership team.
- Analyzes company results, identifies business issues and profitability opportunities; develops and maintains multi-year financial statement models in order to forecast variable scenarios and develop solutions to problems identified.
- Oversees, hires, trains and develops subordinate analysts; evaluates job performance and takes appropriate personnel actions (counsels, disciplines, discharges and commends; recommends pay adjustments).
- Performs a variety of financial analysis in response to executive inquiries or to facilitate decision making; researches and prepares ad hoc and special reports and presentations as directed; prepares presentations, releases and reference materials for management and investor related inquiries.
- Researches and compiles or generates reports required by operations or administrative management; designs reports, charts, and presentations using systems and available tools to manipulate and analyze a variety of financial scenarios.
- Maintains peer and similar industry data in order to provide benchmark and comparative analysis.
- Participates in special projects and assignments; coordinates activities and keep track of current status/progress.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- BA in Finance or Statistics or Mathematics with 5-7 years of progressively increasing related work experience in finance related position or a combination of education and experience.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint are required; Hyperion Essbase is preferred.
- Experience with SAS software is strongly preferred.
- Experience telling the story behind the numbers to Sr. Leadership is strongly preferred.
- Some management experience is strongly preferred.
- Certifications: MBA or MS in Analytics preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to function autonomously with strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Project management experience.
- Physical Demands: Work requires frequent sitting, standing, walking and use of keyboard/computer. Work requires occasional bending, reaching and lifting/moving up to 35 pounds.
- Working Conditions: Normal office environment with little or no exposure to adverse working conditions.
