A postdoctoral fellow position exists within CSIRO Mathematics, Informatics and Statistics in Australia.
In this Postdoctoral Fellow role, you will be working with scientists from the CSIRO Sustainable Agriculture Flagship to model and map soil attributes nationally as part of the Global Soil Map project (www.globalsoilmap.net). Our primary output, the Soil and Landscape Grid of Australia, is an essential piece of national information infrastructure that will directly impact on Australia’s capacity to deal with complex land management challenges. The size of the project and the variety of data available to us make this an area rich in computational and methodological research challenges which will provide you with rewarding postdoctoral experience.
We seek individuals with a PhD (or soon to complete a PhD) in a relevant discipline such as statistics, biostatistics or mathematics with strong experience in Bayesian modelling;

Salary: AU$78K – AU$85K per annum plus up to 15.4% superannuation

This Research Group aims to be international leaders in the development and application of innovative statistical and quantitative methodologies for managing the risks associated with the use and protection of Australia’s marine, aquatic and terrestrial natural resources, while enabling sustainable economic development and improving agricultural productivity. science and is the largest group of environmental and agricultural statisticians in Australia.
