Position: Postdoctoral Fellow in Exploratory Statistics, Pharmaceutical R&D, North Chicago.

Primary Function:

Actively engage in statistical method development initiatives in genomics and other biomarker platforms on applications such as predicting and characterizing patient/treatment response, disease progression, placebo response, clinical endpoint, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Fully dedicated to statistical research activities in one or more genomics/biomarker applications such as those listed above.
• Collaborate with other statisticians to identify critical statistical research questions and develop methodological solutions.
• Give presentations on the research work to statistics and scientific staff in discovery and clinical areas.
• Publish research work in peer-reviewed journals, and present at external meetings.
• Develop and provide educational tutorials with other statisticians for discovery and clinical staff.
• Help develop specialized statistical programs/tools with R, along with supporting programming languages.

Qualifications:

• PhD in Statistics/Biostatistics, with strong theoretical background in a variety of statistical methods.
• Excellent applied research experience in multivariate predictive modeling, statistical learning, method development and data analysis.
• Demonstrated proficiency in statistical computing with R, and preferably some expertise in other computing languages such as Perl, C++ and Java.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge in molecular biology and genetics is preferred, but not required.
