HHS is seeking applicants until August 16, 2013, - project starts in the fall of 2013.
This individual would work on a 1 yr project and be compensated with federal pay for the year.

Description of Ideal Candidate
An ideal candidate is a PhD with data science expertise in such areas as advanced analytics, data mining, database management, financial analysis, predictive modeling, quantitative reasoning, decision management and web analytics. A PhD in econometrics, statistics, or biostatistics is preferred. The External Entrepreneur should be able to exhibit creativity, critical thinking/problem solving as well as advanced communication and leadership skills. This individual should be able to transform data into actionable insights and to develop statistically sound and robust analytic solutions. In addition, the External Entrepreneur should be capable of evaluating constraints on the use of data, assessing data structure and the data lifecycle especially in the application of regression and time series models. Strong programmatic knowledge of HHS and the federal discretionary grants business operation would be beneficial to the success of this high-risk, high benefit proposal.
