2013 NC-ASA Symposium: Celebrating the International Year of Statistics

The Department of Statistics at North Carolina State University and the NC Chapter of ASA is delighted to sponsor this one-day conference, which will provide a forum for young researchers (consisting of high school students, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, etc.) to discuss recent progress in statistical theory and applications, thereby provide new directions for statistical inference in various fields.. The program will include two plenary talks by leading local experts, a full day symposium with a lunchtime poster session and poster/paper award session. See Program details.

The plenary speakers:

Students and young researchers are encouraged to submit title and abstract of their talks by September 22, 2013. Click here to submit the title and abstract of your paper. Accepted titles will be communicated and announced by September 29th, 2013. Registration is required to present a paper or poster. Cash award and a certificate will be presented to the top poster presented by undergraduate student. Three additional cash awards and certificates will be presented to the top three posters presented by high school students. The top three posters will be recommended to represent North Carolina in the national ASA poster competition.
