Sally Morton received her Ph.D. in statistics from Stanford University. Her research interest is in biostatistics, comparative effectiveness and meta-analysis.
She has authored more than 100 research articles. She worked in RAND corporation and RTI International in the past. She is currently the past-president of the American
Statistical Association.
Michael Jordan is a Professor of Statistics and Professor of Computer Science at University of California, Berkeley. He received his Ph.D. degree in 1985 from
University of California, San Diego in Cognitive Science. His research interest span over Bayesian nonparemetrics, machine learning, computational biology, graphical
models and various other fields. He has advised over 40 Ph.D. students and mentored about 25 post-doctoral researchers, and served on numerous editorial boards.
He has received numerous honors including membership of the National Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Engineering, Fellows of Institute of Mathematical Statistics,
American Statistical Association, American Association of Advancement of Sciences, various distinguished professorship and best papers awards.
Srinivasa Varadhan obtained B.Sc. degree from Presidency College, Madras in 1959 and Ph.D. degree from
Indian Statistical Institute in 1963. His research interest includes various branches of probability
theory such as the theory of large deviations and diffusion processes. He has won numerous prizes including
the famous Abel Prize (2007) and was awarded Padma Bhushan (2008) by the Government of India.
