The Department of Statistics currently runs a mail server that will forward any mail sent to [id]@stat.ncsu.edu to [id]@unity.ncsu.edu, unless an alternate address is setup for that address.

This gives the faculty/staff the ability to have [lastname]@stat.ncsu.edu as an alias for their email, when [lastname]@unity.ncsu.edu may belong to another person or may not be allowed due to current id naming policy.

The Department of Statistics currently runs a majordomo listserver for it's department lists. This gives the faculty/staff/students a quick way to broadcast information to the targetted groups. However only members of the department/list are allowed to send messages; hopefully reducing the amount of unwanted messages.

staff Everyone except students.
statistics Everyone {Grad Students, Staff, Faculty, PostDocs, and Visitors}
ugrad All undergraduate students with a Statistics major
