To be invited, a student must have a GPA of at least 3.5 and the  recommendation of the Statistics Undergraduate Program Director (Dr. Roger Woodard). To complete the  requirements of the program, a student must graduate with an overall GPA of 3.4 or higher and have taken at least 9  hours from 2 of the following 3 categories of classes.

  1) MA 425, MA 426

  2) ST 505, 512R, 521, 522, and MA 511, 512, 513, 520, 544, 546 and other 500 level ST or MA  courses designated as appropriate by the honors advisor.

  3) 400 or 500 level independent study courses. Most students take ST 495 or ST 498 for this category.

Students who complete the honors program in statistics will be recognized by having an H beside their names in the  commencement program, the phrase "Completed Honors Program in Statistics" on their permanent transcripts and  their names in the Honors Convocation program. Honors students will also be appropriately recognized at the statistics  departmental graduation ceremony and receive a certificate of achievement.
