SAS Beginners
There will be a 3 day SAS basics class this semester. The class will be taught at a slower pace for beginners.
The Little SAS Book, 4th Edition, will be the text for the class. The book is not required but is a good reference.
The class will be taught on Monday and Wednesdays, November 11, 16 and 18 from 3:15-4:45pm.
SAS Programming I
A 10 day fast paced, in-depth class will be taught on Monday and Wednesdays, September 28 to October 28th.
There will be 2 identical sections. The SAS Programming I Course Notes will be used extensively for this course.
The book is not required, but is a good reference. This book will be available online
and at the NCSU bookstore for about $20.
All Classes
Classes will be held in SICL (Statistics Instructional Computing Lab), 1107 SAS Hall,
which is equipped with Windows computers.
Practice time is provided, but additional practice outside of class is recommended.
The courses are open to all faculty, staff and students and there is no fee to take a course.
Classes will be taught on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Fundamentals of SAS programming
Creating permanent SAS data sets
DATA step processing: assignment statements and functions
Combining SAS data sets: Merge, Set statements
Descriptive Procedures: PLOT, MEANS, FREQ, UNIVARIATE
Statistical Procedures: REG, GLM, ANOVA (assumes a basic understanding of statistics, i.e. ST512)
