"Wavelet Analysis -- An Introduction"

ABSTRACT

Recently a lot of attention has been given to the theory and applications of wavelets in signal analysis, image processing, and in statistical analysis of data related to nonparametric regression. It appears that this theory is finding an ever widening circle of application in various applied science areas. The present seminar will be a very basic introduction to the theory of wavelets. Applications will be discussed for a better understanding of the theory.
