Dr. Harrington is Director of Cardiovascular Clinical Trials at Duke Clinical Research Institute and Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology and Department of Medicine at Duke University Medical Center. He has helped design and lead some of the largest and most high-profile cardiology clinical trials conducted in the past several years. In this talk, Dr. Harrington will discuss medical research from a clinician's point of view and the importance of obtaining systematic evidence in the evaluation and regulation of therapeutic agents. He will also highlight the critical role biostatisticians play in this enterprise.

This talk will be accessible to a general audience, and students in Statistics (undergraduate and graduate) are especially encouraged to attend!
