File Extensions in SAS 9.2 - Why does my SAS file open in EG instead of SAS?

SAS 9.2 has a utility to manage SAS files.

By default in SAS9.2, .sas files will open in Enterprise Guide (EG). You can change this so they will open in SAS by following the instructions below.

This is what you need to do:

Click: Start Icon

Choose: All Programs

Choose: SAS

Choose: SAS 9.2 License Renewal & Utilities

Right Click: Manage SAS File Types

Click: Run as administrator

Choose: When the "SAS File Type Management Tool" opens select "SAS Foundation 9.2"

Click: Ok (All the file types should have check marks next to them)
