Unable to export a GIF file in SAS/GRAPH

The message "Unable to export graph" will occur when attempting to export SAS/GRAPH output in GIF format using the FILE=>EXPORT pulldown menu. This message is usually accompanied by the following error in the SAS log:

Error:  Image depth of 24 is not supported in the GIF output format.

The problem will occur if your video display driver supports more than 256 colors. To circumvent the problem, change your video display driver setting so that the display driver only supports 256 colors.
